Last Week's Latest

This week has been a bit of a crazy one, and I'm currently in the middle of a health scare. That may sound a bit dramatic, so I'm just gonna be upfront. I was with the GP on Tuesday and she has referred me to a dermatologist to get checked. She was very blasé about the whole thing, and simply said it could be X, Y or Z. X and Y were very much non-issues. Z was cancer. And that took me back a bit.

So, of course, being the type of person I am, I have been looking on Google and Reddit for possible answers. Typing in my symptoms to see if it's this or that. And after a couple of days of doing this, I am still no more aware of what it is. And I won't be until I see the professional. And it's that unknown that frustrates the most.

With this hanging over my head, this week has been a tad shitty. Despite everything else being nice and pleasant and chilled and enjoyable, there has been this overhanging shadow. And so I wait for the next appointment.

The future is a mystery. As always. Going through things like this have a weird way of bringing the future into the present, with many 'what if' thoughts. And I don't like it.

What have I been up to this week?

📚 Reading - This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. This is a bookclub book, and definitely not a book I would have started reading if it weren't for the bookclub. It's very weird. And interesting. And strange. And weird (again). But I'm intrigued. Two assassins exchanging letters across the eons. I wanna know what happens. So I gotta finish it.

🎵 Listening - The Good Witch by Maisie Peters. I didn't like her first album. Like, I really didn't get it. I thought she was very 'meh'. I didn't have much belief that she was going to do much better with her second, but I was happy to be wrong. This album is great, and such a good album to listen to on repeat. I'm glad she has built upon her first album and produced an amazing album.

📺Watching - Young Sheldon. I watched the first few seasons years ago, and did thoroughly enjoy it. I fell out of watching it just for a variety of reasons, but going back to it now for Season 4 and 5 (available of Netflix) is great. I loved The Big Bang Theory but I sometimes wonder if I actually prefer Young Sheldon to TBBT. Difficult to say.

🎮Playing - Final Fantasy XVI. I finished it. Sadly, the third act was nowhere near as good as the first and second. I'll always compare every Final Fantasy game (in fact, every JRPG probably) to my first which was Final Fantasy X. And sadly FFXVI at the end of the whole experience falls short. Beyond devastated. Still glad I played it for 2 weeks straight, but alas, sometimes things don't go the way you wanted them to. Onwards to Final Fantasy FFXVII.

Thanks for reading! I hope you're doing well dear reader.
